It’s here! You’ve been really patient while waiting for me to collect the results, but finally I can present to you: the top 65 65daysofstatic bangs. As it’s impossible to find all of 65’s music on one streaming platform, I’ll provide a link to stream each song seperately. Hope you enjoy 🙂 Enough teasing now, on to the list!
66 – 63: 85 pts
The Major Cities of the World are Being Destroyed One by One by the Monsters – skin of the horse’s teeth version (Don’t Go Down to Sorrow)
Outlier/EOTWS_Variation1 (NMS Soundscapes)
FS_PianoVariant (Fugue State EP)
So, thanks to my amazing grading system, the top 65 turned out to be a top 66, as four songs are tied on 85 points. FS_PianoVariant is the only songs from the Fugue State EP to make the top 65 (but definitely not the last Year of Wreckage song to appear in here). Outlier/EOTWS_Variation1 made it to second place in someone’s top 10, earning it its place in this list.
62 – 61: 90 pts
A Failsafe (The Destruction of Small Ideas)
Rounds (Endings EP)
Two very different tracks, both on 90 points. The Destruction of Small Ideas has long appeared to be the 65 album to get the least amount of love, but might this list prove this theory wrong? The Endings EP will also be reappearing on this list, but Rounds definitely deserves its place on this list.
60 – 58: 95 pts
Overture (Silent Running)
Safe Distancing (Silent Running)
Red Parallax (NMS)
Three very space-y tracks tied on 95 points. Well, that’s not too much of a surprise with the amount of space-y songs 65 have created. But as you’ll see, both of these soundtracks get a lot of love from 65kids. Also: is Safe Distancing’s high position inspired by just being good advice nowadays? I wonder.
57 – 56: 120 pts
Dance Parties [Distant]
Massive Star at the End of its Burning Cycle (U/U Vol. 2 / B-Sides & Rarities Vol. 1)
I’m so glad Massive Star has made it onto the list. I had a hard time leaving it off my list, as it has a very special meaning to me, so I’m glad some of you did include it. It’s joined on 120 points by the excellent Dance Parties remix. I just had to add the video for that below, as it is still brilliant (and was very much banned from any airtime on MTV, as you can read about on Dave ‘Medlo’ Holloway’s website).
That’s it for today! Join us tomorrow for the next 10 songs on the list!
